Hi there,

Probably I get this wrong or I am completely misunderstanding some of the FileSeek options, but is it possible to search for a file (name) rather than only file content?

Let's say I know that I have a file named 'SomeFooFile.PDF" on my system but I really don't know where. What I did is entering the file name in the query box. However, the file does not show up (search and exclude paths have been set correctly).
Am I doing something wrong or is FileSeek not meant to be used for file locating?

Regards,
~ Joel

You can definitely use it to find just file names :)

The easiest way is to leave the Query box blank, and just put the file name in the Include Files box. Your Search tab should look something like the attached.

Make sure to also enable the "Search sub-folders" option on the Advanced tab.

Hope that helps!
