Hi all,

I'm having a problem while searching inside RTF files. Whenever "Process file contents using File Handlers" is checked, the word I'm searching for is found, but the preview box below doesn't show the part of the text in which it was found - just the first few lines of the file and then (more) highlighted in red (see test1.jpg). If I uncheck "Process file contents..." then the right part of the text is previewed and highlighted in yellow, but the text is all garbled up and I can't search accented words (because they're garbled - see test2.jpg - the word right next to "luvas" is supposed to be "impermeáveis"). This is an issue mostly when searching non-English text, but even the English language uses a few accented words derived from other languages, so I guess the answer to this might be useful for anyone.

Batch converting all RTF files to DOC might be a measure of last resort (since there are literally thousands of files and new ones keep coming). Seems like there could be a simple solution to this that I'm missing.

I tried v3 beta 4 and the same happens.

Thanks in advance.

We're going to make a change for the next beta that should fix this up. Currently FileSeek always shows from the start of the file, but we're going to change it so that it shows the blob of text surrounding the matched query. I'll be sure to post an update as soon as it's available to try out.

Thanks!
