I might search a thousand text files for the key word "zzzz".

If ten files contain "zzzz" once and one file contains "zzzz" a hundred times, I don't want 110 entries in the results.
I want to show all the files names which contain the "key word" but the lines and count are often irrelevant.

This could also run faster because once you have a single match then it can move on to the next file.

Is there an option to do this now?

On the Advanced tab, can you try enabling the "Only show first result for each file" option? That should do what you're looking for.

Hope that helps!

Thanks. Does work.
There seems to be no consistency between the TAB Advanced and the "Tools-->Settings-->Search" preferences.
I wish that I could also set the WILDCARD handling functions in the same place.
I'm always switching those settings around,

Thanks for the feedback! We'll put that on our list to review.

Where is the advanced tab? I see a "Advanced settings" button in Tools->Settings Window. And there is no such option in the Advanced Settings window.

Edit. Found it on under the Search tab.
