Hello there

FileSeek Pro 6.7 (Beta 4)

Query - Exact Match is broken

I went back a bit to test if it worked in 6.6
- and it kind-of did, at least it returned _some_ results, but it was inconsistent and would not let me search for " character
no matter how i quoted it

As this is how I nearly always use FileSeek:-

Query - Query is a text query
Settings -> Search - Treat query search as one large query term

These settings work great for finding exact matches
- no need to quote anything, even quotes - Except backslash of course, that needs to be quoted with a backslash

Currently now 6.7(Beta 4) Query - Exact Match returns nothing, ever, no matter what settings

I dont really know, but should'nt Query - Exact match just do the search by first Forcing the two options I have above?

Hi David,

I tested this out on my end and it seemed to work fine for me. Could you send me over a screenshot of your search query, along with the inside of the file your trying to search?

Thanks!

Hi Owen
Attached the screenshot you requested
Attached also the Advanced and Search settings I am using

Am I misunderstanding Exact Match? how exact is exact? does it mean match entire line or something?

Hi David,

That's correct, "Exact Match" will match your query line to the line in the document. If it isn't exactly the same, it will not return the file.

In your case, if you change your query to "hello and goodbye", it should find that file. If you adjusted the query search to "Query is TextQuery" with your current search, that should find the file as well.

Thanks!
