We'll be sure to let you know as soon as we're able to fix it up :)

In the meantime, a workaround would be to use the computer's name instead of its IP, if it has one. I've done some testing here, and it looks like if FileSeek doesn't have access to the share, it just silently fails. Could you attach a debug log?
  1. On the FileSeek Settings > Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L1: Log Minimal" and click Apply
  2. Restart FileSeek
  3. Try your search
  4. Send us the FileSeek.log file (can be found by clicking the Open Log button on the Troubleshooting tab)
  5. Disable debug logging after sending the log

I am setting up a new Open Suse linux machine (Leap 42.3) and created a samba share. However, I am unable to get any search results from this samba share. I can view it, open files, edit files, perform a Windows (10) search on the share. I've tried mapping the share to a drive (Z) and also accessing it directly.

I am setting up this linux machine to replace an older one (Suse 12.3) with a similar setup. I am able to search the older samba share without issue.

Even doing a search of just "*" turns up no results. No date filters or size filters enabled. Under advanced, it is set up as 'match query to entire file', search sub folders, show file names that match the query test, show file names that match the 'include files' filter.

Any ideas? Logs and version info attached. Running FileSeek 6.1 ]]>
