Are you searching for the complete filename or a partial match? If you're using a partial match you'll have to include wildcards:
Searching for "test" will not find "test.txt", but using "test*" or "test.*" will.

You can change this behaviour in the Search settings (Tools > Settings > Search) by checking "Treat all Include Files filters as wildcards" to avoid typing in the wildcards every time.

Also make sure the options are cleared like Kevin mentioned.

Let me know if that works!

Make sure all the settings associated with the More Options button (click the button and a window will appear with Date and File Size options) are cleared (unless you want them enabled). I have been bitten by this on more than one occasion. I run several searches based on dates one day and the next day ... I search for something and I can't find it, only to realize my More Options settings from the previous day are remembered and are being used for my current search.
