I think that would be a great start, in lieue of hooking the OS context menu for a given known file type.

Separately, while I'm here...
A context menu in the search results table line item that allows me to right click and "Open Containing folder.." so that I can open the folder where a given search hit is located would be a nice to have feature. The user-defined editor part is more important to me though.

btw, I found your Fileseek after realizing that Windows Search 4.0 was not allowing me to find many files, or contents within a file, and spent days (literally) trying to avoid having to fully index everything in order to attempt to get Search 4.0 to work. Ultimately, I came here to find a nice lightweight!! search util that didn't rely on indexes in order to function. Is there an easy way to open a match with notepad++? I can copy result to clipboard, dismiss the resulting dialog, open up notepad++, paste the clipboard text, manually select the filename with my mouse, copy that, and now paste the result into the file open dialog.

That's a lot of steps, but I have a small brain, and I almost forget what I was searching for!
