Ah ok. I've re-tested all of this, and it seems to not work if I have the .txt handler enabled in Settings &gt; File Handlers, and "Process contents using file handlers" enabled on the Advanced tab.<br/>
<br/>
If I disable the .txt handler on Settings &gt; File Handlers, I can leave "Process contents using file handlers" enabled, and it will find text in sample.txt without issues. Even if I remove the "utf-8" from the Advance Settings, it still works. So, if you do the same (see below), does it work for you?<br/>
<ul class="ListBullet">
<li>In Settings &gt; File Handlers, disable the .txt handler</li>
<li>In the Settings &gt; Advanced Settings, clear the "utf-8" text from the custom encoding option</li>
<li>On the Advanced tab, enable "Process contents using file handlers"</li>
<li>Try to search sample.txt</li></ul>
