I've re-tested all of this, and it seems to not work if I have the .txt handler enabled in Settings > File Handlers, and "Process contents using file handlers" enabled on the Advanced tab.

If I disable the .txt handler on Settings > File Handlers, I can leave "Process contents using file handlers" enabled, and it will find text in sample.txt without issues. Even if I remove the "utf-8" from the Advance Settings, it still works. So, if you do the same (see below), does it work for you?

• In Settings > File Handlers, disable the .txt handler
• In the Settings > Advanced Settings, clear the "utf-8" text from the custom encoding option
• On the Advanced tab, enable "Process contents using file handlers"
• Try to search sample.txt

Yes, the option is ticked. Following disabling it, FileSeek works as expected.

Maybe encoding for doc files in the Search panel is okay, but a conversion would be needed to match input with utf-8.
